If the file does not automatically start downloading select
“Save”

“Save as”
, or
“Save File”
depending on which browser you are using to save the file to your computer. Please note where you save the file as we will need to access it in the next step.
DO NOT
click open as we need the file saved to your computer for the following steps.
Browse to where you have downloaded the file
UPCMM01YY.zip
in step 2 and
RIGHT-CLICK
the file and select
EXTRACT ALL
When the extract window appears click
Extract
. This will create a new folder named
UPCMM01YY
in the same folder you downloaded the file in step 2 to.
Load the saved data into your practice management software
Loading the Data:
If your Software is not listed below please contact your Practice Management Software provider for assistance loading Downloadable SPEX UPC On Demand or see below for directions to create your own physical disc.
Officemate:
Copy the
"SpexUPC"
folder,
Config.UPC, DISK_DIR.UPC, MISCDATA.UPC
from the
UPCMM01YY
folder directly to the
C:
drive or your
local disk drive
. The files you copy should not be inside any other folder but be at the root level of the drive.
**If you are using Officemate on a server you will need to copy the files from step 2 to the
C:
or
local disc drive
of your
server
. You can copy the files to a
networked drive
if the drive is accessible from the server**
Open the
Framemate
portion of Officemate click
"Tasks"
then
"Select FRAMES Source"
In the
"Catalog FRAMES Source"
window select the
Drive
from the dropdown where you previously saved the SpexUPC folder in step 1.
Choose the
FRAMES UPC Data CD
radio button and click
OK
Proceed with the SPEX UPC installation as normal
Compulink:
Copy the
"SpexUPC"
folder,
Config.UPC, DISK_DIR.UPC, MISCDATA.UPC
from the
UPCMM01YY
folder directly to the
C:
drive or your
local disk drive
. The files you copy should not be inside any other folder but be at the root level of the drive.
**If you are using Compulink on a server you will need to copy the files from step 2 to the
C:
or
local disc drive
of your
server
. You can copy the files to a
networked drive
if the drive is accessible from the server**
Click
Utility
then select
Frames Data Update
In the
"UPC Frame Data Loading..."
window enter the drive letter that you saved the
"SpexUPC"
folder to in Step 1
Click Ok
An information window will now appear asking to insert your disc. Select
OK
The SPEX installation process will now begin
Create a SPEX UPC disc
You can burn the data from your SPEX UPC download directly onto a blank cd-r disc to load in your system as you normally would each month.
To burn a SPEX UPC disc on Windows:
Insert a blank CD-R into your computer
Open up "Computer" or "My Computer" and browse to your disc drive
Double click to open the disc
Name the disc UPCMM01YY
Copy all of the contents from the UPCMM01YY folder from
step 4 in Download and Save
to the disc in step 2
**Please ensure you are burning the
contents
of the
UPCMM01YY folder
and not the folder itself to the disc. There should be a total of
9 items on the disc. 4 Folders
and
5 files
that are placed directly onto the disc not inside any other folder**
a. Once the files finish copying over click the "Burn to disc" button in the top navigation
Once the disc is finished burning proceed with the installation as you would with the physical disc
FDWEB01L-JOB-23
